Flymaps System Overview

Flymap L  Basic features

A High-end navigation system

The Flymap system is a high-end navigation system for light aircraft, with a brilliant high- brightness display guaranteeing easy visible viewing even in direct brigh sunlight ( >1000cd/m2 ).

Touch Screen Operation

The Flymap L system is operated by using the highest quality touchscreen system. It facilitates an extremely intuitive and enjoyable system that can be operated easily in air or on the ground. There are no hidden menus to remember allowing quick, simple operation.

Map view

The map display can be done in the "Course Up" or "North Up" mode and this can be changed easily. In selecting the “course up” function the map revolves smoothly around the airplane symbol which is always located at the bottom quarter of the screen – providing a broad overview of the chart ahead.

Visual approach charts

Unique to the Flymap System, you can display the approaching airfield by selecting the airfield on the map, then activating the VFR approach chart to expand the traffic pattern in the ICAO map. The approach charts are then displayed at the correct scale and orientation of the map.

Once you enter the boundary for the airfield the approach chart information automatically changes to an optimal size. All the functions of the Flymap such as zoom, and adjusting the map remain at all times.

Terrain Display

The Flymap system displays your height above terrain (HAT) using colors marking the terrain elevations.

The terrain display begins when the level falls below 1000ft above ground.
Yellow areas: Height above ground is between 100ft and 500ft
Red areas: Height is less than 100ft above ground or the terrain is higher than the current altitude

Airspace warning

Flymap provides clear indication to airspace warnings provided on the map. Your position relative to the zone, altitude, airspace class, the upper and lower limits are all provided in a clear precise format.
